# Welcome to Quick Intel

Quick Intel is a suite of utilities that work together in our ecosystem to drive safety and utility for crypto users.

Over 50,000 users have been scammed out of more than 1 billion dollars in cryptocurrency. After seeing so many scam victims, the Quick Intel (QKNTL) team identified a need to help crypto enthusiasts quickly and efficiently identify potentially risky code hidden within the project's contracts.&#x20;

Quick Intel is a **suite of cryptocurrency security tools** designed to provide real-time assessment of project contracts and provide users with immediate feedback on potential malicious code within a token's contract.

With Quick Intel, users scan a token's contract address using one of our various tools. The results of the contract address are generated using our unique first-of-its-kind code analysis that digs deep into the code to provide alerts on known scams and malicious code.

# Bridge (ETH <> ARB)

This article describes how to bridge your QKNTL tokens to and from the Ethereum, Arbitrum One chains.

{% hint style="info" %}
Quick Intel's bridge is a tool for transferring your QKNTL tokens between the Ethereum, and Arbitrum chains.\
\ <mark style="color:yellow;">**Quick Intel ONLY recommends using our in-app bridge!**</mark> &#x20;

<mark style="background-color:red;">Using any other bridge may result in the loss of your tokens.</mark>
{% endhint %}

### 📘  Instructions <a href="#howtobridgeqkntltokens-instructions" id="howtobridgeqkntltokens-instructions"></a>

1. Navigate to the bridge section with the Quick Intel dApp.
   1. <https://app.quickintel.io/swap>
2. Ensure the wallet where you hold your QKNTL tokens is connected, and you have selected the Ethereum Mainnet or Arbitrum One network in your wallet.

   <figure><img src="https://quickintel.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/servicedesk/customer/confluence/shim/download/thumbnails/8650755/image-20231119-013002.png?version=1&#x26;modificationDate=1700357404327&#x26;cacheVersion=1&#x26;api=v2&#x26;width=739&#x26;height=257" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
3. After connecting your wallet, ensure you are bridging from the correct chain. In this example, we are bridging from Ethereum to Arbitrum One.

   <figure><img src="https://quickintel.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/servicedesk/customer/confluence/shim/download/thumbnails/8650755/image-20231119-013104.png?version=1&#x26;modificationDate=1700357466469&#x26;cacheVersion=1&#x26;api=v2&#x26;width=487&#x26;height=332" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
4. Enter the amount you would like to bridge.
5. When bridging Ethereum to Arbitrum One, you must perform an approval transaction first. This step is not needed when bridging from Arbitrum One back to Ethereum Mainnet.

   <figure><img src="https://quickintel.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/servicedesk/customer/confluence/shim/download/thumbnails/8650755/image-20231119-013212.png?version=1&#x26;modificationDate=1700357534585&#x26;cacheVersion=1&#x26;api=v2&#x26;width=490&#x26;height=336" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
6. After the approval transaction has been completed (if needed), select Bridge to the selected chain and approve the transaction.

<figure><img src="https://quickintel.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/servicedesk/customer/confluence/shim/download/thumbnails/8650755/image-20231119-013613.png?version=1&#x26;modificationDate=1700357774991&#x26;cacheVersion=1&#x26;api=v2&#x26;width=479&#x26;height=329" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

7. Once the transaction has been completed, your balance will be updated after a few seconds, reflecting your bridged assets. \
   Congratulations, you have successfully bridged your QKNTL tokens!

<figure><img src="https://quickintel.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/servicedesk/customer/confluence/shim/download/thumbnails/8650755/image-20231115-202633.png?version=1&#x26;modificationDate=1700079997161&#x26;cacheVersion=1&#x26;api=v2&#x26;width=494&#x26;height=391" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: Bridge times and gas fees will vary depending on network activity. Bridge times usually take anywhere from 30-90 seconds.

# Token Details

The Quick Intel Security Scanner returns import information regarding the token such as the supply, honeypot test, and even project links.

### Project Details

Once you have selected your token details to scan, it is now time to read those results and understand what's going on.

<figure><img src="/files/iB0y1ICeqx40HHKfGMWj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Pertinent token details will be listed here, including the contract name and address, the token's supply, the current owner, and a link to the explorer.\
   Additionally, if the token has a max wallet or max transaction limit, it will be listed here.

### Honeypot Test

<figure><img src="/files/L8nlmedW2OE1RHVZzFkB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. With the Honeypot test, we simulate whether the token can be bought and sold when the scan is completed.&#x20;
2. Based on the simulation results, the buy, sell, and transfer taxes of that token are calculated so you can easily see how the taxes will affect your buys and sells.
3. If the project locked its liquidity via one of the lock providers across the supported chains, this information will be listed here, along with the percentage locked and the unlock date.
4. (All Access Feature) If you are an All Access Tier holder, you will also receive an AI-detected confidence score from our in-house Quick Intel AI Scam prediction tool; it will predict the chances of that contract scamming you. This data is constantly evolving, should be used for educational purposes and research, and should not be used as the source of truth.

### Liquidity

Knowing the Liquidity information about a project is key to understanding how a buy or sell will affect that token. Adequate liquidity ensures you can buy and sell that token. Below, we break down the information displayed.

<figure><img src="/files/L8nlmedW2OE1RHVZzFkB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. The total pairing of Liquidity in the pairing token and the $USD value.
2. The total current market cap of the token.

# Scanner Results

Here you will learn about the results of the deep dive that the Quick Intel Security Scanner performs on crypto contracts. If you need crypto contract audit results, we have it!

## Results Deep Dive

The Quick Intel Audit is designed to swiftly analyze a contract to highlight essential details, helping you to evaluate its safety and identify any potentially harmful hidden actions. This rapid assessment can be a crucial step in ensuring the integrity and security of your contracts.

In this section, we'll delve into the specifics of the scan results, providing insights into how each finding may impact you. It's crucial to comprehend these results to better grasp what a contract is capable of.

Use the <mark style="color:purple;">numbers on the image</mark> to quickly find the individual results descriptions below.

<figure><img src="/files/5nYWzHZR6p7pMhv34wNG" alt=""><figcaption><p>Quick Intel - Token Audit</p></figcaption></figure>

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#1 Renounced</mark>

Renouncing a contract results in the absence of an owner, rendering actions designated for "onlyOwner" inoperable. Renouncing is common, and a project should be asked about their reasons for not renouncing.

For most chains, you will see the owner listed as all zeroes.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#2 LP Locked or Burned</mark>

Locking or burning liquidity pool (LP) tokens CAN enhance community trust by preventing the token owner from withdrawing the LP directly from the pool. This is most important in the first 6 months to a year a contract is live.

It is important to understand that an LP lock/burn does not mean there is no other method in the contract that would allow the LP to be pulled.

{% hint style="info" %}
Please see [LP Locker / LP Burn Support](/quick-intel-scanner/lp-locker-lp-burn-support)for a list of the LP Lock service providers Quick Intel supports. &#x20;
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#3 Verified</mark>

**Verified** means the contract's source code is confirmed and made public, enabling inspection by anyone.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#4 Is Proxy</mark>

A proxy contract serves as an intermediary, forwarding calls to another contract for execution. &#x20;

While a project could benefit from using a proxy contract (e.g., updating the contract), it can also be used for malicious intentions due to that same capability.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#5 Funded by Scam Wallet</mark>

If this token originated from a wallet with a history of funding scam tokens, proceed with caution.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#6 External Contract Risk</mark>

An external contract could allow the execution of malicious code via the externally connected contract.

{% hint style="success" %}
Details for this flag vary based on the Tier of the user:\
\
Basic = Yes / No flag\
Basic+ / All Access = Displays the external contract address
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#7 Hidden Address</mark>

A hidden address is an address masked as a numeric value, so to users does not seem malicious. However, a hidden address can be used for malicious intent as it is difficult to determine whether it is an address or a large number.

{% hint style="success" %}
Details for this flag vary based on the Tier of the user:\
\
Basic = Yes / No flag\
Basic+ / All Access = Displays the hidden contract address
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#8 Potential Hidden Owner</mark>

Smart contracts often transfer or renounce ownership to decentralize control. However, creators can embed mechanisms allowing specific wallets to retain influence. Detecting these hidden privileges is crucial for ensuring contract integrity and transparency.

An example of a scam is to renounce the contract (give up ownership) but have a hidden backdoor to still make changes.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#9 Can Mint</mark>

If a contract is equipped with the capability to mint new tokens, it can increase the existing supply by adding these freshly minted tokens.

Note that there are a few valid reasons for a contract to allow minting, such as a bridged token.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#10 Can Burn</mark>

If the contract has the ability to do a true BURN, where the tokens are destroyed and the circulating supply is adjusted to reflect accurately.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#11 Can Blacklist</mark>

The contract is equipped with a feature that enables the addition of wallets to a blacklist. Wallets on this list are restricted from performing actions such as purchasing, selling, or transferring the particular token in question.

While there are benefits to being able to Blackist (e.g., block a bad bot), it can also be used to block legitimate traders.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#12 Multi-Blacklist</mark>

This feature is similar to the Can Blacklist item, with the difference being enabling the owner to blacklist multiple entities in a single action.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#13 Can Whitelist</mark>

This contract possesses a unique feature: the ability to curate a list of wallets with special privileges, effectively exempting them from any standard limitations or rules applied to other transactions. A notable instance of this functionality is the ability for certain addresses to completely bypass tax mechanisms on purchases and sales. This exemption ensures that selected wallets can operate without the constraints that typically govern the contract's transactions.

It is important to understand which wallets are whitelisted. A common scam involves whitelisting hundreds of wallets to bypass taxes and create artificial volume on the charts.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#14 Can Update Max Wallet</mark>

The contract specifies a Max Wallet limit, indicating the maximum quantity of tokens a single wallet can hold. Reviewing the contract to determine if and how this limit can be altered is important. Adjustments to the Max Wallet limit, if permissible, are typically governed by specific conditions or procedures outlined within the contract itself or by owner-allowed functions.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#15 Can Update Max Tx</mark>

The contract imposes a limit on the maximum number of tokens that can be handled in a single operation, be it buying, selling, or transferring. This limit is adjustable by the contract owner.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#16 Can Pause Trading</mark>

By enabling a trading pause, the owner can prevent any buy or sell transactions from taking place. This CAN be used as one type of honeypot.

{% hint style="danger" %}
NOTE: This can be dangerous as it allows the owner to halt the movement of assets.
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#17 Trading Cooldown</mark>

Whether the contract has a cooldown mechanism that limits the time between two transactions. For example, if there is a cooldown for 60 seconds, you can not sell a token within 60 seconds of buying that token. This is typically enabled on launches to aid in bot prevention.

{% hint style="info" %}
NOTE: If a contract has a trading cooldown, this can hinder the sell taxes from being identified correctly during our simulated transactions, which determine the selling tax.
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#18 Can Update Fee Wallets</mark>

Within a contract, if specified taxes or fees are directed to a certain wallet, the feature of updating fee wallets empowers the contract owner to modify the destination wallet that receives these taxes or fees. This functionality can be useful, but it is important to understand how the project intends to use it.

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#19 Can Update Taxes/Fees</mark>

This indicates that the contract has the ability to modify the trading taxes associated with the token from their existing rates.

{% hint style="success" %}
Details for this flag vary based on the Tier of the user:\
\
Basic = Yes / No flag

Basic+ = Displays the name of the function that can update taxes/fees

All Access = Displays the name and code of the function that can update taxes/fees
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
NOTE: It is always good practice to see if the contract has a hard limit on what they can set this to. If there is no limit, there is a risk that the owner can set taxes to 99 or 100%, effectively making it a honeypot.
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#20 Contains Suspicious Actions</mark>

If certain functions significantly deviate from expected behaviors, they might be deemed suspicious. It is important to understand that this does not mean they are necessarily bad, and we suggest contacting the project to ask about those specific functions.

{% hint style="info" %}
NOTE: Having a Suspicious Action does not necessarily mean the code is bad. View our [Suspicious Actions Blog Post](https://quickintel.io/blog/what-are-suspicious-actions-in-crypto-and-how-to-research-them) for more information and examples of suspicious actions.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
Details for this flag vary based on the Tier of the user:\
\
Basic = Yes / No flag

Basic+ = Displays the name of the function(s) that triggered the alert

All Access = Displays the name and code of the function(s) that triggered the alert
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#21 Contains External Actions</mark>

Even after a contract's renouncement, specific external actions may still be executable. While these actions can very well be detrimental and used in scams, this capability can also be used to maintain the flexibility and integrity of contract-related processes, ensuring that necessary adjustments or interventions can be made even after formal renunciation. Understanding these actions' scope and implications is crucial for effective contract management and oversight. This is definitely a DYOR item.

{% hint style="info" %}
NOTE: Having an External Action does not necessarily mean this is a scam. View our [External Actions Blog Post](https://quickintel.io/blog/what-are-external-actions-in-crypto-and-how-to-know-if-something-can-be-changed-after-renouncement) for more information and examples of External Actions.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
Details for this flag vary based on the Tier of the user:\
\
Basic = Yes / No flag

Basic+ = Displays the name of the function(s) that triggered the alert

All Access = Displays the name and code of the function(s) that triggered the alert
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:yellow;">#22 Contains potential code used in known scams</mark>

If the code in the contract has been used in scams on other contracts.

{% hint style="success" %}
Details for this flag vary based on the Tier of the user:\
\
Basic = Yes / No flag

Basic+ = Displays the name of the function(s) that triggered the alert

All Access = Displays the name and code of the function(s) that triggered the alert
{% endhint %}

### How is this done?

With the Quick Intel Snap, every time a user initiates a transaction, the Quick Intel Snap API is invoked. The Chain ID and transaction data are sent via a POST request.\
\
Quick Intel then grabs that transaction data and decompiles it, extracting the token(s) being interacted with in the request.\
\
Once the token(s) are extracted, an audit is performed, and the results are returned via an array to the Quick Intel Snap.\
\
Due to how Quick Intel extracts the token(s), the Quick Intel Snaps supports any DEX on any of the supported chains, providing the user with the best user experience, ease of use, and minimal complexity.\
\
The results are then displayed to the user via the Quick Intel Snap, and in the event of multi-token interactions/swaps, an audit for each token is returned.

Token Details

1. In this section, you will have information like the Token Name, Token Symbol, Contract Address (for validation of contract interaction), and whether the Contract has been verified.

The next section is broken down into two sections.

2. This is the **Warnings** section. Here, you will get a count of the number of warnings identified and the number of warnings that were returned.
3. This is the **Caution** section. Here you will get a count of the number of caution items identified and each warning item returned.

A link to view a **Full Audit** directly on the Quick Intel dApp.

4. With each audit result, a link will be provided that sends you directly to our Quick Intel scanner app, where you can view the full scan results in depth.

While the Quick Intel Snap is meant to provide users with a quick and seamless way to identify potential risks in tokens they may be buying; further research is always recommended when possible.

# x402 Permissionless Access

x402 Permissionless Access

### Overview

Access Quick Intel's token scanning API **without API keys or registration**. Pay $0.03 per scan with USDC using the x402 protocol.

**Best for:**

* AI agents and autonomous systems
* Developers who want instant access
* Pay-as-you-go usage without commitments

***

### Pricing

| Endpoint   | Price              |
| ---------- | ------------------ |
| Token Scan | **$0.03 per call** |

Paid in **USDC** on any supported chain (Base recommended for lowest fees).

***

### Endpoint

```
POST https://x402.quickintel.io/v1/scan/full
```

#### Request Body

```json
{
  "chain": "base",
  "tokenAddress": "0x4ed4e862860bed51a9570b96d89af5e1b0efefed"
}
```

| Field          | Type   | Required | Description                                       |
| -------------- | ------ | -------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| `chain`        | string | ✅        | Chain name (e.g., "base", "ethereum", "arbitrum") |
| `tokenAddress` | string | ✅        | Token contract address                            |

#### Response

Same response format as the standard API — full token security analysis including honeypot detection, tax analysis, ownership status, and risk scoring.

***

### How It Works

#### 1. Make Request (Get 402)

```bash
curl -X POST https://x402.quickintel.io/v1/scan/full \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "chain": "base",
    "tokenAddress": "0x4ed4e862860bed51a9570b96d89af5e1b0efefed"
  }'
```

**Response:** `402 Payment Required` with payment instructions in `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` header.

#### 2. Sign Payment

Sign an EIP-712 `TransferWithAuthorization` message authorizing $0.03 USDC transfer.

```javascript
const authorization = {
  from: walletAddress,
  to: paymentInfo.payTo,
  value: "30000",  // $0.03 USDC (6 decimals)
  validAfter: 0,
  validBefore: Math.floor(Date.now() / 1000) + 3600,
  nonce: randomBytes32()
};
const signature = await wallet.signTypedData({
  domain: {
    name: "USD Coin",
    version: "2",
    chainId: 8453,
    verifyingContract: "0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913"
  },
  types: {
    TransferWithAuthorization: [
      { name: "from", type: "address" },
      { name: "to", type: "address" },
      { name: "value", type: "uint256" },
      { name: "validAfter", type: "uint256" },
      { name: "validBefore", type: "uint256" },
      { name: "nonce", type: "bytes32" }
    ]
  },
  primaryType: "TransferWithAuthorization",
  message: authorization
});
```

#### 3. Retry with Payment Header

```bash
curl -X POST https://x402.quickintel.io/v1/scan/full \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "PAYMENT-SIGNATURE: " \
  -d '{
    "chain": "base",
    "tokenAddress": "0x4ed4e862860bed51a9570b96d89af5e1b0efefed"
  }'
```

**Response:** `200 OK` with full token scan results.

***

### Supported Payment Networks

| Chain     | Token | Chain ID |
| --------- | ----- | -------- |
| Base      | USDC  | 8453     |
| Ethereum  | USDC  | 1        |
| Arbitrum  | USDC  | 42161    |
| Optimism  | USDC  | 10       |
| Polygon   | USDC  | 137      |
| Avalanche | USDC  | 43114    |
| MegaETH   | USDM  | 4326     |

**Recommended:** Use **Base** for lowest gas fees.

### Integrations

With Quick Intel, we provided shareable links that can be shared with other users for ease of accessibility or direct link integrations.\
\
Below is an example of the format that should be followed to a direct link for scanning a token or an NFT.\
\
There are 3 parameters that the custom link should have.\
\- Type\
\- Chain\
\- Contract Address\
\
For "type" the available options are:\
\- token\
\- nft\
\
For "chain" the available options can be found in the [Chains](#chains) ID section above\
\
For "contractAddress" this will be the contract address of the token or NFT collection to be scanned.

<https://app.quickintel.io/scanner?type=token&chain=arbitrum&contractAddress=0x6d038130b9b379a373b1d33a29d5904ed1bb9026>

1. Token Details - Will return token information along with the token owner if there is one.
2. Contract Verified - This will state if the contract is verified.
3. Quick Intel Audit - This section outlines all of the audited results.

### Quick Intel Audit In-Depth

Most items in the Quick Intel Audit are self-explanatory, but let's dive into a few areas to ensure a clear understanding.

1. Let's look at the items "**can\_Blacklist**" and "**cant\_Blacklist\_Renounced**".

   <figure><img src="/files/tR7JZfec4tBVHAZABsze" alt=""><figcaption><p>Result 1</p></figcaption></figure>

   Although they sound similar, they serve different purposes.

   * **"can\_Blacklist"** means the ability to perform this action is there.
   * **"cant\_Blacklist\_Renounced"** means that IF/WHEN the contract is renounced, they can no longer run the above action. If this were false, while the **"can\_Blacklist"** was true, that would mean that IF/WHEN the contract gets renounced, the ability to perform this action is still there EVEN if it is renounced.

### **External, Suspicious, and Scam Functions**

<figure><img src="/files/4tfnJ3WYBo1I9JCoE6FI" alt=""><figcaption><p>Result 2</p></figcaption></figure>

1. **Suspicious Functions** refer to actions within the contract that may not be "normal". This does not constitute any action to be good or bad but is advised to review.
2. **External Functions** are actions that can be run **EVEN** when the contract has been renounced.
3. **Audit Functions** are functions related to the modification of taxes
4. **Scam Functions** are known scams that are tracked by Quick Intel. This will return the matched scam, along with the scam data, when there is a match.

### Additional Data

<figure><img src="/files/s2HX8oUyGY3Z4n8wiY8X" alt=""><figcaption><p>Result 3</p></figcaption></figure>

1. **Contract Links** are links that have been embedded within the smart contract.
2. **Functions** is the list of WRITE functions that are available.
3. **Only Owner Functions** is the list of functions that are controlled via the "onlyOwner" modifier.
4. **Multi-Blacklist Functions** are potential actions that can be used to multi-blacklist wallets.

* Hardware arms race
* Potential mining centralization

{% hint style="success" %}
**Related Terms**

* 1.2 Block
* 1.5 Consensus Mechanisms
* 1.4 Nodes
  {% endhint %}

***

### <mark style="color:yellow;">**1.4 Nodes**</mark> <a href="#nodes" id="nodes"></a>

#### Simple Definition

Individual computers that participate in maintaining and validating the blockchain network.

#### Real-World Analogy

Like individual libraries in a city that each maintain a complete copy of all books (blockchain data), ensuring information remains available even if some libraries close.

#### Advanced Definition

Nodes are the fundamental infrastructure components of a blockchain network, responsible for storing the blockchain, validating transactions, enforcing protocol rules, and maintaining network connectivity. Full nodes maintain a complete copy of the blockchain, while light nodes may only store headers for verification purposes.

#### Technical Implementation

Node operations include:

* Storing blockchain data
* Validating incoming transactions
* Propagating information to peers

#### Key Benefits and Risks

**Benefits:**

* Ensures network decentralization

### <mark style="color:yellow;">**1.5 Consensus Mechanisms**</mark> <a href="#consensus-mechanisms" id="consensus-mechanisms"></a>

#### Simple Definition

A set of rules and processes that determine how network participants agree on the validity of transactions and the state of the blockchain.

#### Real-World Analogy

Similar to how a group of historians must agree on what events actually happened before recording them in history books, consensus mechanisms ensure all network participants agree on transaction history.

#### Advanced Definition

Consensus mechanisms are protocols that enable distributed network participants to agree on the current state of the blockchain without requiring trust between parties. These mechanisms prevent double-spending, ensure network security, and maintain decentralization by providing a mathematically verifiable way to confirm transactions.

#### Technical Implementation

The mechanism typically includes:

* Validation rules for transactions and blocks
* Incentive structures for participating nodes
* Conflict resolution protocols

#### Key Benefits and Risks

**Benefits:**

* Ensures network agreement
* Prevents double-spending
* Maintains security

**Risks:**

* Energy consumption (PoW)
* Potential centralization
* Speed limitations

{% hint style="success" %}
**Related Terms**

* 1.1 Blockchain
* 1.3 Mining
* 1.4 Nodes

### <mark style="color:yellow;">**1.6 Decentralization**</mark> <a href="#decentralization" id="decentralization"></a>

#### Simple Definition

The distribution of power, control, and decision-making across a network of participants rather than a single central authority.

#### Real-World Analogy

Like Wikipedia, where content is created and maintained by many contributors rather than a single publisher, decentralization distributes control among many participants.

#### Advanced Definition

Decentralization is a fundamental principle of blockchain technology that removes the need for trusted intermediaries by distributing network operations, governance, and data storage across multiple independent participants. This creates a system resistant to censorship, manipulation, and single points of failure.

#### Technical Implementation

Decentralization is achieved through:

* Distributed network topology
* Open participation mechanisms
* Consensus-based governance

#### Key Benefits and Risks

**Benefits:**

* Censorship resistance
* No single point of failure

# MetaMask Wallet Connect

This article describes the steps needed when you are having issues connecting your MetaMask wallet to the Quick Intel Web and Mobile apps.

{% hint style="info" %}
MetaMask connection issues can sometimes occur when you do not complete the read-only transaction signing process, which validates your wallet. It is a known issue but is fairly easy to resolve.
{% endhint %}

### 📘  Instructions <a href="#metamaskwallettroubleshooting-instructions" id="metamaskwallettroubleshooting-instructions"></a>

Let’s walk you through some steps to see if MetaMask is simply waiting for you to approve the signing:

1. Go into MetaMask (mobile app or web extension as appropriate)
2. On the connected wallet, click on "Activity."
   1. If you see just one [app.quickintel.io](http://app.quickintel.io/) unapproved request, click it and sign (**you should now be connected**)
